First styling shoot.

These are my favourite images that came out of the shoot i did to interperate my trend. I wanted it to look kind of thrown togeather.. nothing to glossy. The model just has natural hair and only light foundation and brown mascara on. The oversized jacket is worn with only a long vest beads and a pair of wellies. My shoot also has a musical influence. Overall i was happy with the images, they translate the way i see my trend very well.

PROPS

Today i have been making some props and clothing for a styling shoot i am going to do. The styling shoot will be my representation of my trend, i want it to look very natural.. my model with have very minimal make-up and 'just got out of bed' hair. The photos are going to be natural not to posey.. real life style.
Today i made a Bindle i made it out of eco friendly fabric and a stick from a tree.
I also brought a large tailored jacket from a charity shop, i alterd the neckline using different fabric and also sanded the fabric to give it a distresed look. It looks oversized which is the look i wanted. I want the shoot to have a natural hand-me-down kind of feel to it. I have also desided on a few other props for my shoot.
below are images of what i made today!
really pleased with the results!

Rinko Kawauchi.

Rinko Kawauchi is a Japanese artist that i heard about from someone else. Her work is beautifull, her aim is to capture the beauty of orinary everyday moments that we often ignore and take for granted, and she defonatly achieves that as you can see in the pictures. I think it was the innocence and ordinaraty of her images that i like... the object of her art is always very normal, nothing too obscure but the way in which she captures the photo results in an amazing image.
Below are a few of my favourite images.

Fabric research.

As my trend is all about being one with nature and friendly towards the enviroment, it only seemed right the fabrics were eco friendly. After abit of research i found out these were the most popular.

Hemp.
This is considerd by many the MOST eco friendly fabric available.

Wool.

Organic cotton.

Soy Silk.

Indigo Corn.

Bamboo.

colour pallet!

I found an image that i love and has a beautifull range of colours in it.. and i think i am going to use this as the pallet for my trend. There are a big mix of earthy neutral colours ands then splashes of bright yellows, reds and greens. Below is the image that i chose the colours from, its from Iain Mckells work.

And below are the colors i selected from the image for my pallet.

Tree hotel, Sweden.

I was looking through an architectural magazine when i came across this artical about a hotel in sweden. Its an eco friendly hotel set in a huge forrest and all the rooms are in the trees like tree houses. Each room is completly different, but they aim to blend in with the surroundings. I thought they went along with my other research very well... and the structures them selfs are beautifull. Below are just a few of my favourites.

This one the 'mirrorcube' is my favourite, its very clever and it is completly coverd with mirrors all the way round so it reflects the surroundings meaning it completly blends in. from some angles its hard to see!

Trend narrative

I now have a clear vision in my head of what my trend is. So i have composed my trend narrative to continue working around.

'The New Era Hippie'
This trend is all about getting back to your roots. Peace, Freedom, love and happiness. nature is your friend so embrace it! Things are oversized, distressed looking and of course eco friendly. Natural, pure and innocent, with music and festival influences. Tree-hugging is the new going out.

'The New Gypsies'- Iain Mckell

I came across Iain Mckells work in a shoot he did for 'Hotshoe' magazine, which is a contempory photography magazine. I loved this shoot 'The New Gypsies'. It was a very inocent portrayol of traditional gypsies around today. I particually liked the portrait photos of the people really natural and honest. There was no make-up, or photo editing to remove wrinkles or imperfections. I find these images kind of refreshing because of how pure they are. Another thing that drew me to it is that it has many similarities tothe hippie theme i have been researching. Although they are two different types of people they share there love for natural things and living using the basics.

More hippies!

So iv found more images of hippies.. this time the real ones from the 1960's/70's. i love them.. they are so cool! deffonatly think my project is going to have some hippie influence. Found these images from all over the web, mostly from blogs.

This is a ticket for the music festival, 'Woodstock'.. which was a place that hippies would gather each year. Music is also a big part of being a hippie.

The new era hippy.

These images are also off 'Bloom' magazines website, I fell in love with these images, i loved how inocent and pure they were. Really reminded me of the hippie movement in the 60's, but a more modernised version. people that are one with nature, and living life technology free.
